The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research reviewed a report submitted by Rasha Kamal, head of the Central Administration for the Affairs of International Students, on the “Study in Egypt” initiative and the strategy of attracting foreign students adopted by the Ministry this year through overcoming the difficulties and facilitating the necessary procedures for studying in Egypt.
The report pointed out that it was decided to open the application for international students to study in Egyptian universities for the academic year 2019/2020 starting in May, by entering the official website of the expatriates www.wafeden.gov.eg
Within the framework of facilitation of international students, the report explained that the Department of International Students is taking several measures, including: Providing students with student services via courier, the possibility of accepting the student’s file through the embassy of his country in Cairo, developing electronic payment service, The digital wait service, which helps facilitate the procedures of admission to Egyptian universities and access to a distinguished educational service, and regularity in the educational process from the beginning of the academic year, as well as the completion of registration procedures and receive them easily.
Rasha Kamal pointed out that to date, 4363 students from different nationalities have applied on the website of the international students, with the expectation of increasing the number with the result of the secondary certificate in other countries, where 2,418 students took seats in the Egyptian universities for the academic year 2019/2020. Documents 125 students from applicants, and the completion of 1301 students from entering their data.
It is noteworthy that the number of foreign students applying for study in Egypt last year during the same period amounted to 3553 students only.
